A Daisy Chain
Sarah Jane Von Hagen
A braided string of seeds
You drug around the house,
Brushed up against the carpet-
Soon pollen- bees will douse.
A necklace, curled up buds
Snuggled tightly as they rest.
Hug your neck so sweet-
To bloom would be the test.
A linked daisy chain
Clutched firm around your waist.
Sickly-sweet metal petals,
Don’t dare let it go to waste.
