Rylee Cash

United States

I want you to visualize

Visualize a dessert valley

Not akin to a thriving forest

Maybe once that lively

A large tree, now barren of its living limbs

Branches once covered in shades upon shades

Emerald, lime, fern, pistachio, olive, and jade leaves

Now gone, lost to the drought

Her home

A lush and vast land of plant and life

Tigers and snakes and toucans wandering around

A breath of fresh air

Now dry and stale

Her home

Destroyed and burned and chopped down

Wildlife and greenery slaughtered

Leeched upon by the colonizers

Now dry, dusty, barren

A wasteland, ghostland, graveyard

Brought on by the very ones who sought to save the planet

Claims now laid to waste

By the drought
