Sunflowers

Younes Aomari

In my sunflower garden

I mean between the two sunflowers in our front yard

I was laying on my back

watching the sky,

It was cloudy that day.

The clouds were acutely gray.

Foam, floating, flowing, flying high.

Their different shapes sizes and grays,

made my eyes and mind see sheep ,dragons ,cotton candy ,faces and even snails.

So I loudly said:

Thank you clouds for making my sky beautiful today

Then I heard,

I hate them ,the clouds.

They are hiding our sun;

the sunflowers furiously replied.

Confused, I smiled

I remembered that we’re all evil in someone’s eyes

Even if we bring the water,

that without it everything dries, dies.
